Voted #1 Golf Course in Shanghai and one of the Top 10 Golf Courses in China by the US Golf Digest Magazine in June 1999.

Best Par 4 in Asia

In April 2002, Shanghai Sun Island Old Course was voted one of the five best courses in China and its hole #11 was voted the best Par 4 hole in Asia by the "Asia Golf Monthly".

In April 2003, Hole #16 of Shanghai Sun Island Old Course was voted the Best Par 3 hole (2nd runner-up) in Asia by the "Asia Golf Monthly".

In April 2003, Hole #9 of Shanghai Sun Island Old Course was voted the best Par 5 hole (4th runner-up) in Asia by the "Asia Golf Monthly".

Championship Course

Venue of 2007 HSBC Youth Golf Championship

The Finals of the 2007 HSBC National Youth Golf Championship was held at Shanghai Sun Island in November 2007.

A Favourite for Golfing Events

Each and every Sun Island Golf Course is a popular venue for golfing events. From the 1998 Volvo China Masters to the 2007 HSBC Junior Golf Championship to the 2011 Shanghai Golf Association Amateur Open, the Sun Island series of golf courses have hosted more than a thousand golfing events. Famous players who have graced the Sun Island course in Shanghai include Jim Furyk, winner of the 1998 Volvo China Masters and Liang Wenchong, China's current No. 1 professional.
